Siskiyou Singers President’s Message-Week 14

Here we go… just two weeks to concert time with 3 rehearsals together to be ready to perform our beautiful and fun music for the public. Tuesday’s January 7 church sanctuary, January 14 Wesley Hall with orchestra and Friday January 17 tech rehearsal at SOU Recital Hall. Performances  Saturday and Sunday January 18 & 19 both at 3 PM.

Once again, I’m asking for volunteers to help with setup and takedown of our risers. I need at least 8 volunteers Friday January 17 to setup, meeting at 1 PM at SOU Recital Hall and 8 volunteers to takedown immediately after the Sunday January 19 concert. I’m not able to attend our Tuesday January 7 rehearsal so won’t be recruiting for volunteers then. Please reply to this email if you can help. I will ask again and have a signup list at the Tuesday January 14 rehearsal and then send a reminder email to all riser volunteers.

Our music librarian, Deborah Sanford, asks that you return music if you haven’t purchased it. There will be a box at both rehearsals and concerts for you to put it in. No need to organize it but if you have a chance to erase your pencilled in notes, please do so.

We will also need 4 ushers for each of our Saturday and Sunday concerts and announcements to signup will happen at rehearsals. These volunteers are typically family members and friends of our choir.

Our board Membership chair, Howie Seay, will announce our party plans at rehearsals. As most of you already know, these are relaxed and fun gatherings to celebrate our accomplishments, socialize and enjoy delicious food and drink with each other. Family members and significant others are always welcome!
