President’s email 11/27/24

Hi Siskiyou Singers. I am sending this email again in hopes of it being received this time since many of you sent me emails to put my president@siskiyousingers.org address into your email apps.
Fingers and Toes Crossed 🤞🤞 🤞 🤞

Greetings Siskiyou Singers!

So just two rehearsals and one week from tomorrow before we have our Mountain Meadows performance. Let’s all keep up on our homework as best we can considering the holiday festivities coming up this week.

Riser and Usher Volunteers
I still need a few more volunteers for helping with the riser setup/takedown for our December 14th concert and I only have one volunteer for being an usher so far. We need to have 4 ushers in order to be able to cover the full house audience we are hoping for 👍🏻

Rehearsal Break Announcements
Our announcements before we have our 10 minute break during rehearsals are meant to be only for our choir related information. We’ve had a longstanding policy to not have announcements about other community events for two main reasons. There is not enough time for multiple announcements that don’t pertain to the functions of our choir and most people will not retain the information for it to be effective. What we do instead is ask those who would like the choir members to know about another performance or event to please give the details to the president (which may include a graphic ad) for placement in an email to share with the choir. We also will not share events that directly compete with our rehearsal and concert times. We try our best to be respectful of everyones’ time at rehearsals.

Jefferson Baroque’s upcoming concerts will be December performances of Handel’s “Messiah,” a beloved holiday tradition. The concerts will be held 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 140 N. Oakdale Ave., Medford; and 3 p.m. Dec. 8 at First Methodist Church, 175 N. Main St., Ashland. Admission to “Messiah” is free for those 18 and under, $25 for others.
This is a concert with soloists singing until it ends with a Hallelujah “sing-along” including the audience. You can check on the details at the website link jeffersonbaroque.org
They also provide a link to download a copy of the Hallelujah chorus music in case you want to sing it.

Share Our Event on Facebook and other Social Media
Howie Seay created this Event on Facebook to help us spread the word about our December concert.
Please share it as much as you can.
