Bandlab Link Corrections
Another Rehearsal Recording Idea
  • Cyberbass.org offers the traditional rehearsal recording format: Your part louder than the rest and offset to the right. It is also possible to speed up or slow down the recording. Although it does not have the kind of flexibility that Bandlab does, it is much easier to use. The Vivaldi Gloria and the Bernstein are both there. You can use it online or you can purchase a CD.

Vivaldi 1
  • Please remember the cresc. from 39 all the way to 45
  • Everyone take another look at 62 – 67

  • Excellent work!
  • Note correction: Tenor note, m 67 should be A nat (thank you, Mikiko)
Bernstein 1
  • Cutoffs m 2 on beat 3 (not after), m 6 downbeat, m 8 on 2 +
  • Practice rhythm of last note of m 10. Count out that measure carefully. Use your pencil (or stylus): 1 2 3 4 5 +
  • Rip off a very solid “chi” in m 4
  • The accents are important in m 7, but especially the one on the second note.
Bernstein 3
  • The measures in the piece are confusing. I would recommend marking every single one (in which you sing)
  • Review of phrasing:
    • m 21 – no breath
    • m 22 – breath
    • m 23 – no breath
    • m 24 – breath
    • mm 25, 26 – no breath
    • m 29 – no breath
    • m 30 – breath
    • m 31 – no breath
    • m 32 – breath
    • m 33 – no breath
    • m 34 – breath
    • mm 35 – 37 sopranos and basses – no breath
    • m 35 altos and tenor – breath (with none until the end of the phrase – you may breathe during the rest)
  • Pronunciation
    • lei = “lay”
    • lai = “lie”
