After careful consideration of the latest information concerning COVID-19, Siskiyou Singers Board of Directors made the difficult decision to cancel the choir’s Spring 2020 concerts, which had been scheduled for May 2 and 3 at the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall in Ashland.

“The safety of our singers and members of our community is of primary importance,” board President Mary Van Wesep said. “We will truly miss our audiences this spring. Stay healthy and safe as we all navigate this challenge.”

Siskiyou Singers looks forward to preparing its fall season concerts and welcoming audiences to performances on December 11, 12, and 13 at SOU. Director Mark Reppert has selected two of Mozart’s most lively, beautiful pieces: the “Coronation Mass,” full of sprightly themes and joyous melodies; and the “Regina Coeli,” a delicious filigreed musical pastry praising the “Queen of Heaven.” The choir will be performing these two pieces with full orchestra.

Siskiyou Singers, founded in 1982, is a community choir that performs a wide variety of the world’s music. Its goal is to be accessible and affordable to singers and listeners of all ages and interests. In addition to its two concert programs each year, the choir performs at various community events such as the Feast of Will, which marks the opening of outdoor theater performances at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. The choir also runs an Educational Outreach program, performing for and with students from local elementary, middle, and high schools.
