The Siskiyou Singers present A Night at the Opera, their delightful not-to-be-missed Spring concert on Saturday April 28th at 7:30pm and Sunday April 29th at 3:00pm in the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall in Ashland, and on Sunday May 6th at 3:00pm in the Grants Pass High School Performing Arts Center in Grants Pass.
Under the direction of Mark Reppert, the choir will sing dramatic, romantic and comedic excerpts from Mozart’s Magic Flute, Wagner’s Lohengrin, Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas, Puccini’s opera buffa Gianni Schicchi, Aaron Copland’s American opera The Tender Land, Verdi’s tragic Aida, Gilbert & Sullivan’s comic blockbuster HMS Pinafore and much more. Opera buffs will enjoy familiar favorites, while novices will have a chance to sample some of the most beautiful vocal music ever composed. Most selections will be sung in English.
Tickets for the Ashland performances are $15 for adults and $5 for students. Thanks to some generous donations, all tickets for the Grants Pass performance are $5.
